Chalk Properties is an established real estate agency serving the Vaal Triangle and surrounding areas. We work with buyers, tenants, sellers, landlords, students, families, retirees and investors — helping people find their place across Vanderbijlpark, Vereeniging, Sasolburg, Sebokeng, Parys, Meyerton and beyond.

Chalk Properties was established as a collaborative effort between the husband-and-wife team Schalk and Lou-Anne van der Merwe. After too many years in the corporate world for Schalk and Lou-Anne already an established estate agent it was decided to venture out and establish Chalk Properties. The name itself was a challenge. Trying to find something that would stand out and be fresh the name Chalk was decided on. Schalk’s grandfather used to call him “Chaulk” and according to the family a name that his grandfather was called whilst working on the mines in “Fanagolo”. In short translated as “the fair white man” is a trait that fits. The graphics team suggested dropping the “u” to assist with pronunciation. Chalk Properties was born. Our main aim is to serve our clients – both buyers and sellers – in the various markets we operate in. Starting off in the Vaal Triangle with big audacious dreams of expansion into the rest of our beautiful country. One property at a time!
